Endometriosis

This is a process where the inner lining of the uterus called endometrium is found to grow outside the uterus, for example on the surface of the ovary, the tubes, behind the uterus etc. Like normal endometrium, it also grows and bleeds during each menstrual cycle. As the blood cannot come out, it collects causing adhesion with the surrounding organs. This causes pain during menstrual cycles and during intercourse.
